Gale Force Winds Coming...4/8/19

Starting Monday, swell and wind forecasts will increase thru Wednesday...N/W winds to 35 knots by Wednesday and swell building as high as 11' for inshore waters..Tie up the boat and get out the red wine....
..Afterward, best bet is chasing bird flocks crashing the surface on bait schools and jumping in to try for a yellowtail or throw some iron on them...grunion runs have started, with more legal size halibut moving into the shallows along the coast..
...Everything I know in life, I learned from the Easter bunny: Don't put all your eggs in one basket; the grass is always greener in someone else's basket; the best things in life are still sweet and gooey......

Bluefin just below Ensenada like The Creature says...charterboat departed the San Diego docks and caught limits within 12 hours ...all 20 to 60 lb bluefin....new batch of squid showing on the backside middle at Catalina...baitboat "Carnage" has squid for sale by Avalon....yellows and large bonito on frontside east...some tanker seabass on coast below Long Beach and at the channel islands....season is starting out nicely....

Cleaner water was moving up this way until the blow started...anybody's guess for the next few days..swell going back to normal by Saturday....probably lots of plankton upwelling will limit vis for the next few days..inshore looks dirty...San Clemente island looks the best bet with blue water just below it...water temp hitting 62 in spots, a good sign for the tuna if they can follow a solid 62 degree water path northward...Good volume of Bluefin on the 302 below the border...fish to 200 lbs sighted...

Tell Me about it. The Peace charter was canceled due to the winds.
Itís the only time I get to dive from a boat.
I donít have a boat, but red wine I do have
Cheers
