On the FL east coast, three nautical miles out. Water depth can vary depending on how wide the shelf is at that point; off Juno Beach you might be in 100 ft of water and off Martin County the same distance out would put you in maybe 70 ft of water. On the Gulf coast of FL it's nine nautical miles out.

Yea, it varies wildly. In my area that'd put you at about 50'. Go N about 50 miles and you'd be in ~2O'.

Well out of Riviera Beach the 3 Mile boundary is in around 400ft
