Don't get the inside references yet, what's the deal with Jersey, rivalry or does the fishing really suck?

Put fletch in an arm bar and make him tell you whats up. He has been the midatlantic mixed martial bullshit artist for years. Weve been waiting for someone to de-throne him.

He's a transplant that loves everything New Jersey and just can't come to terms with his forbidden love.

Re: New Here (Don't look away!)

Hey Garrik,
I made only a few other models this winter, no hybrids yet. Main focus has been on further up mid-handles with less gun out front with more band-stretch /shaft power, low viz killers. Also have working on some epoxy camo ideas to dial into the local waters, location specific stuff. Very stoked.

Off to Brazil on wed for 12 days and am hoping try out one of my new ones. Keep you posted buddy, TTYS

Re: New Here (Don't look away!)

Welcome to Brooklyn !

1st and foremost I recommend taking a class, primarily for the safety, but also for the technique. Let me know if you need some recommendations.

You can check out the NY Area freediving group on facebook. https://www.facebook.com/groups/NYAreaFreedivers. We train freediving in a couple of Brooklyn pools. Some of us also spearfish.

Although a bit further out, you should also check out the Long Island Spearfishing Group on FB. https://www.facebook.com/groups/3124...ref=ts&fref=ts

Re: New Here (Don't look away!)

First things first, welcome to the board mate. Secondly, I highly recommend buying two books I think ever free diver should own. They are Breathology by Stig Severinsen and Manual of Freediving by Umberto Pelizzari and Stefano Tovaglieri. I am sixteen and first took interest in spearfishing about a year and a half ago and after recently reading these books (religiously) I was able to take my static breath hold from 30 seconds to 3 minutes and 40 seconds (in about 3 months). Also I suggest joining this group on facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/312466048775785/ . The name of the group is Long Island Spearfishing and even though I do not live anywhere near Long Island I received tons of advice and help from the folks here. They commonly get together and dive and are always glad to have new members.

Good luck in your training, and always remember no fish is worth your life and that safety comes first.
