Re: Help! Spearfishing key largo/islamorada

All the regs for spearing the keys are confusing! I live in Tampa and am going down for my first time end of August... I will be doing the kayak freedive thing and am try to get some more direction as to what keys I should focus on... Any suggestions?

Like everyone mentioned, if you're gonna be close to shore you should stay South of Long Key. Anywhere North of there gets very tricky on rules and regs.

OK thanks. So are there scattered patch reefs that I could just paddle around to or is there a more defined reef line like west balm beach area? Do the bridges produce much?
