STOLEN DIVE GEAR - DOWNTOWN SANTA BARBARA

My car window was broken a couple of weeks ago and some thieves stole some dive gear of mine, in addition to a few other things. Some of this gear is uniquely identifiable. The more notable dive gear items are listed below:

Blue-digital camo DiveR medium fins with 45/46 Omer Stingray footpockets

Black Akona mesh duffel bag – one of the clips for one of the shoulder straps was busted

Yazbeck carbone wetsuit jacket (black camo pattern)

Clear lens Riffe Nekton mask with black Cressi mask strap cover

Amber lens Riffe Nekton mask with black Cressi mask strap cover

Riffe stable snorkel (there is a tiny spec of tar on the purging valve)

Riffe Terminator knife with sheath

33’ white floatline with orange spectra ends

Rob Allen bait ball shore flasher, contained in a bright yellow capsule

There were not many of that particular pattern of DiveR fins sold in this country, so they should really stick out like a sore thumb. I only recall one or two other California divers owning that particular pattern. One of them lives in northern California.

If anyone sees or hears anything, it would be greatly appreciated if you could get in touch with me. I’m not going to stop looking for my stolen gear.

I can’t use my PM on this site, so please contact me via the following email address:

ajpdives@gmail.com

Thank you very much for taking the time to read this.

Anything that causes a health warning I would consider contaminated. But I have some pretty big catfish thriving in my septic tank you are welcome to to harvest if that stuff doesn't bother you.

So runoff from every winter storm under your definition is considered "toxic sludge".

I guess you'll never surf or dive again.

You got any good gear you won't be using any more? I need a 50-foot floatline and a Ron Allen 70cm. Help a brother out...

NEXT MEETING: Matt Lopez on Wed., May 2

Speaker: Matt Lopez, Dark Waters Dive Co.
Topic: Hunting Bluefin in SoCal & New Products
When: Wed., May 2 @ 7:30pm (Social Hour @ 6:30pm)
Where: Rusty's Pizza Parlor @ 111 State Street

In 2017, Matt Lopez and friends set out after bluefin tuna in southern California as a mission. This was the first year that Matt used his own boat to pursue these fish, and they managed to land 19 bluefin, putting many new divers on fish. Matt will join us to share his incredible experience.

Matt has been an FII instructor since 2015 and is the founder/owner of Red Triangle Spearfishing. Matt enjoys teaching freediving and developing innovative dive gear. Most recently, Matt founded Dark Waters Performance Dive Co., which flagship products of custom floatlines and bungees have really come onto the scene as standouts for the quality and attention to detail that goes into them. Matt will share these new products with us, explaining in detail what sets them apart from the competition.

All are welcome to attend our meetings. We hope to see you there.

Hurry up and take the pic!

Almost 4 hours in the water, decided to give myself 10 more minutes before getting back on the boat. Everything looked so right, but nothing was coming through. Luckily I stoned it, was in no mood to deal with it in the kelp. Vis was getting worse, and I was in deeper water. Pure luck!

The owner of this site requested that I not share photos of fish pics. Whatever. I'm out of here.

Granted I’m looking at this on my phone but I can’t tell from your photo anything about where you got that fish.

I still enjoy keeping an eye on this thred (its the only part of Spearboard I visit any more). But if people are being harassed just for posting fish pics, I might be done...

I doubt Tony told you not to share slug photos.

Who are you referring to as "the owner of this site"?

SlayJP?
