Yes, it is interesting. May explain why the floppy BIO FINS produce so much thrust, those fat cylindrical rubber “rails” on either side are very springy. I remember the first time I was shown a pair and inquired whether they were a joke, being busted blades as far as I could see with a split right up the middle. Under protest I put them on and then swum along a rather featureless sandy bottom thinking these things are totally useless as there was no discernible loading on my feet. I stuck my head out to see where I was and it was a WTF moment as I had swum twice the distance, maybe more, than I had originally expected. Still use paddle blades though as old habits are very hard to break.
