Re: Current Vis Islamorada 73MM - Key Largo 106MM

Out yesterday (13 oct 10)...great visibility in 45 feet and deeper. There was a definate color break where the blue water was meeting the green. Vis had to be 80 feet.

In closer it got worse the shallower in you went. We had 20 feet of vis in 25 feet of water and 5 feet or less in 15 feet.

We still managed to peg a couple of decent fish in shallow though.

Awesome vis the last two days;60 feet plus. The wind is picking up though so I'd except the vis to drop. It was rough on the surface this afternoon and we really had to fight the current and the chop. Wife did a little chumming

On the Eagle yesterday...10-15 feet and really green. It'll pass quickly though and get back to the normal 30ft plus winter vis in a day or two.

Re: Current Vis Islamorada 73MM - Key Largo 106MM

Just gat back last nite. No internet where we stayed so could not post earlier. Weather was awesome all last week. Flat seas inside, maybe 2-3' outside one day, otherwise calm all week. Vis was great inside, top to bottom. Did a few dives in 100-125' vis was great to about 70' then a little murky 25-30' horizontal. Great week, stayed at Holiday Isles Resort. Place is under renovation, great deals to be had on rooms if you are on a budget.
