Fundraiser for Tom Harding

For those of you who didn't hear, Tom Harding was in the hospital a while back (no no, it wasn't the mental institution like last time, he escaped from there already . He busted his leg and foot up BAD .

Normally I'd tell him to suck it up, but the fact is Tom is self employed and has a daughter as well, he's been out of work for two months now and the bills are stacking up. I'm not trying to guilt you guys into throwing down for him, but we thought we'd just like to show him that we care, he's not going to be blowing this on spearguns or fun stuff (or the sex change he so desperately wants) it's the day to day things that add up. Regardless of what you've heard Tom is a good guy who only eats zebra perch because he lacks the man skills to shoot real fish . The tribe has always been supportive in times like this and every bit counts.

If you would like to throw in, the procedures as follows:

Here's the PAYPAL instructions:

log into http://paypal.com and enter your account info (or make an account)
click on "Send Money"
under TO type in: oakpwr@sbcglobal.net
under "AMOUNT" type in whatever you are donating

they changed the next set of procedures, the next part says "What are you sending money for?".
CLICK ON "I'M SENDING MONEY TO FAMILY OR FRIENDS".
This will ensure nobody gets charged taxes or paypal fees.
Click "Continue"

the next page is a review page. Double check the amount being sent, BEFORE YOU CLICK ON "SEND MONEY" MAKE SURE YOU DO THE FOLLOWING:

In the "MESSAGE (optional)" box type in:

2013 Spearo Fundraiser
Your name
Your email address and telephone number

Then Click "SEND MONEY"

Every bit will help, I'll keep a running list of who donated and will update it weekly, I'll run this for a month or so until Tom gets back on his feet and I'll cut a check to him for our donations.

I don't want to list the amounts of all the donations because to me it's cool if you are just throwing in 1$ or whatever, but I definitely want to recognize the guys who threw in extra heavy .

Fools who parted with their money:
Alex Ray
Chris Oak
Michael Dong $200
Bill McIntyre $100
Jamie Padgett $125
Tino Bernazzani $100
Joe Nguyen $100
Mike La Riva
Sent tom the first check!

Steve Veros $100
John Morozumi
Logan McLeod
Michael Dong$269
Stephan Grothues $150.00

Ive had the pleasure of meeting tom a few times. He is super knowledgable, humble about diving and funny as hell. He is WAY cooler than Dave ploessel.

Get well soon Tom. Don't spend the money on 5 star hotels in Europe at a free diving competition alright brother?

I just want to say that no one should hold back from donating just because Tom is gay. Lets not judge.

If its OK for a 7' NBA center, then its OK for a small freediver.

It was a joke, in keeping with other things Chris said in his initial post. For instance, Tom wasn't really in a mental hospital, and he really doesn't want a sex change, but Chris said those things about him.

I’m sorry that wasn't clear to you.

Re: Fundraiser for Tom Harding

I typically would be anonymous about a donation; but in this case I feel it is important to truthfully portray the gravity of the situation. From what I understand, Tom landed on his left foot with incredible force, dislocated his knee; thereafter, his FEMUR slammed into the ground (instead of his foot).

I will be donating $1000, to help make ends meet, while he recovers.

Get well soon buddy.

Okay I'll fess up. In toms defense he wasn't in a mental hospital, the guys with the giant butterfly nets and white coats couldn't catch him but they chased him around for a while, then Tom jumped into his car with no floorboard and paddled his feet like mad and took off just like in the cartoons. And as far as the sex change thing....well I guess secrets are one of those things that should remain a secret between him and Dam.

BUMP!!!
