Last weekend of Lobster season. you think I can do it?

i have work saturday so this is a last minute thought. flying standby down to either santa barbara, SLO, San Diego or Santa Monica that night. is it possible to dive from shore in any of those areas to grab some lobster or bigger fish?! im freediving.

If anyones willing to guide me in the right direction ill gift you my catch. just want a different experience then the chocolate milk im dealing with in Sonoma Co. literally i think i swam with shit last week.

Of course you can (if you can find a flight). You can a) Google satellite search the nearest coast to your selected airport looking for reef b) if you're serious message me and fly into John Wayne in OC.

Re: Last weekend of Lobster season. you think I can do it?

Coastal conditions here have been marginal but, could clear within a couple of days for some decent diving. Today was flat and sunny..could see the Casino at Catalina from pier in Seal Beach where the water was dirty grey; yesterday windy and rough by noon....hit it and have plan B ready to do the tourist thing if need be....I often carry my gear in the trunk if conditions should turn out to be good and assume I will be a tourist sightseer otherwise...either way, you can't lose...early morning high tides are about over, so, vis may be worse on outgoing tides..time will tell..

Haven't been that way for a few years, but, I believe there is still a dive shop on the waterfront pier...Also, the sea urchin divesr in the harbor might be a good source of info..
