Rashguard question

I am looking to buy a rashguard that will not add any buoyancy. What type of material would you recommend?

Re: Rashguard question

No, I would go shirtless if it weren't for sun/jellyfish/other irritants.

Please take a look at our site. We have tops, pants and Lycra hoods, all matching and even offer a discount package for all three.

Re: Rashguard question

I looked at them as soon as I started looking for rashguards. Are they buoyant?

The shirt has a panel of 2 mm neoprene on the chest and the back has a similar panel. Under the arm pits is a wide strip of the lycra material so there should be zero chest constriction or effect on breathing. The neoprene panels provide a place to mount the chest pad. The arms of the suit are lycra.

I have not measured it, but I would think the total buoyancy of the shirt is on the order of maybe a pound or so. So the entire suit has negligible buoyancy.

Re: Rashguard question

Look for a 2 piece lycra suit with a hooded top. The 2 piece will let you stay completely covered and protected or just wear the top with shorts. Most will only have a chest pad which wont add any noticeable bouyancy. There's several out there, but few that check all the boxes of features like hoods, beaver tails, thumb loops, foot straps, chest pad, knee/elbow abrasion protection. The 2 linked below are in stock options I have. Give us a call if you're interested in seeing more options we can order or you.
