The rest of the story?
When could we hear the rest of the official story?
We have read the personal accounts, speculation, and witch hunts. I am waiting for the full story from the persons running the event! Slider/Dan |

Re: The rest of the story?
Is there a chance we could get the whole, true story posted of what happened? From the persons running the tourny? Maybe put this to bed and go forward would be a good idea. And now work on a format that could be fair for all.
That or another week of crap. Slider. |

Scott
I hope there will be a full report of what happened with names and all. And with the facts only. Clear this up and go on with a better plan! Slider |

Re: The rest of the story?
I'm guessing that if a person were to organize a tournament and then disqualified someone for cheating they would want to be very careful as to how they handled the situation after the fact. While to us it's obvious that a fish with blue eyes and grey gills is more than a day old, the DQ'd contestant's lawyer would probably have a field day if they were then publicly accused of cheating by that organizer.
Unless there are witnesses, records from the Bahamas or photographs of the fish prior to Saturday, I don't think that we will get much more than "they were disqualified". (All names have been withheld to protect the innocent.) |

Well said smilinmatt.
Our sport went to a higher level. Where do we go from here? I still think I will wait for the full report then decide. I am working on a Freedive only event this year, however small, but fair and fun. Slider |

Re: The rest of the story?
It is shameful that organizers have not given a public explaination of the facts of the SBO. Hiding behind lawyers is not good. The only thing that will bring back credibility is transparency and a total vetting of all facts. There can be no legal recourse for presenting the facts. Period. Also I would not want this person to represent me or my country in the future. Spearboard management needs to quickly put the facts out. Time will only leed to more trashing and segregation of the spearing commuinity. Time to take out the trash and deal with the consequences.
