Yes. The spearfishing clubs in general had rules which exceeded state requirements from way back. About the only minimums we usually piggyback with state are the larger gamefish; ie WSB, halibut, and usually ling cod. But with the new regs on fish, the rules will adapt slightly.

Gotcha. 14 inches is big for some of these fish. Should be interesting.

Re: 2014 Pacific Coast Championship

The Triton Board met this week to discuss the PCC's and are excited about this years event.

Campsites have been purchased so plan on showing up on Friday and getting in a warm up dive. Last years competition site will be the area allowed for fun diving on Friday.

Friday night the 3rd, the Tritons will be hosting a pasta feed and Saturday night is a group style potluck around the grill. Bring your stories and appetites.

I will post more details next week.

Mark your calendars and registration will be available soon.

If you have any questions, please post them up.

Thank you,

Re: 2014 Pacific Coast Championship

Special Event Saturday Night:

The Tritons are stoked to have the super talented singer and performer Michael Keeney join the group to sing and perform on his acoustic guitar.

Michael will be playing from 7pm to 9pm while we all kick back around the camp fire and enjoy dinner.

Going to be a fun event.

If you haven't registered you or your team, please go to www.montereybaytritons.com and click on the PCC link.

Thanks

Re: 2014 Pacific Coast Championship

May be a silly question, but I noticed on the registration form "Club Name". Is it a requirement to belong to a club to participate?

No, you do not need to be part of a club to participate at the PCC's this year.

However, it has always been a requirement of the PCC's to be a member of a club or council in the past. We are going to lift the requirement this year so that divers can come and meet some of the people that are part of active clubs and councils. It is our goal to introduce more divers to a very high level of competitive spearfishing and the PCC's is a great venue for that.

The two primary councils that host the PCC's are: CenCal & GLACD. There are many clubs under these councils that will participate at this years PCC.

As well, the club information is used on the scoreboard so people know where you & your team are from.

This year, the PCC's is being hosted by the Monterey Bay Tritons, a club under CenCal.

Hope that helps,

Alex
