Results and Pics 49th annual Charlie Sturgill Polespear meet

Another great turnout for the 49th Annual Charlie Sturgill Polespear Meet, looking forward to seeing even more people out there next year for this super challenging competition!!

Conditions were rough in the morning and got btter as the day went on but were very challenging for all competitors

As is tradition Richard Balta turned in an amazing catch that almost totaled 100 points!! Also he weighed in the second white sea bass in tournament history! A very nice specimen at 18lb

Kyle turned in an awesome catch as well with a 8.3lb sandbass and the first ever yellowtail to be weighed in at the sturgill, a whopping 3.3lbs

It was so awesome to share all the stories with the competitors and old timers in attendance!

Get your polespears dialed in and ready to go for next year and come out to compete against some of the stiffest competition in california next october!

1st Richard Balta 98.98 points
2nd Kyle Parker 72.71 points
3rd Scott Blumer 49.12 points
4th Sean Sedlarski 46.95 points
5th Kelsea Albert 39.23 poits

Largest Fish Richard Balta
Sheephead 21.80lbs

Ryno had a really bad day, some self inflicted equipment issues, and his drivers were being pussys.
I lost a few big fish too, everyone had issues but the king it seems like

Nice catches and nice to see some photos of the "old school" divers...I think I landed the first meet sea bass with a polespear in 1900 or, was it, 1990?

Kelsea came out of retirement just to kick ass and take names. Damn Girl...
Kyle, what the hell is with that fish man, were you bottle feeding that damn monster, that thing is huge..
Richie, you killed it again. What is this your 4th win? You are the man. Lungs of steel and laser accuracy.
Sorry i missed it, This competition gets mad props for being the best organised competition that really relies on the skills of the diver.
Congrats to all.
