Re: dream boat

That video is pretty cool. Not a cheap rig to own, but cool nonetheless.

Re: dream boat

I saw one of these down in Key West was being used as a smaller boat, their big boat was a 57ft sportfish and Capt told me they were upgrading both boat Invincible at that time only had triples and they were getting bigger one with quads. Some people just don't realize how lucky they are

Re: dream boat

I smooth seas any boat will perform well. Although I haven't look, no videos I've seen test boats in rough weather.
So far cats have got my attention for a dream boat.

I currently dive off of my friends 22' cat with twin 90's. We usually have big boats like those pass us on the intracoastal. Once we get out in rough seas all of them back off the throttle unless they want their kidneys coming out of thier butts. My friend just floors the throttles and smiles as we pass them. The faster we go on the cat the smoother the ride gets.

Re: dream boat

sick! I'd personally take a Freeman 33' Cat:

Or the new 40 they have planned with quad 300's, 2 on each side!! You could take that thing out in a hurricane!

Yeah, OK. Your 22ft cat passes 36 YF and Invincible's in rough seas. Keep smoking the sea weed.

Re: dream boat

By no means an expert here, but I've ridden on both a 30 cat and 34 YF both are great rides, and both handle quite differently. If I had to pick 1 I'd go with the YF hands down. An important factor here is the size once you get into the 30's boats behave more alike...but with such a difference in hull designs b/t these 2, best bet is to take'em out and see for yourself. On another note one of the other guys has an Invinsible and he likes the YF more, both are top tier boats so you can't go wrong with either.

Re: dream boat

with cats i found that when coming off a wave. The water between the hulls gets shot in front of the bow and comes back as spray directly into your face. My buddy has a yf 34 I love it. Straight out jupiter inlet 45kts in head on 4-6 sloppy chop. Those boats shine in side seas, doesnt matter how big the side sea is you can floor it and by dry and comfortable. I want to ride in an invinc.

Re: dream boat

That inv did not have a tourney load.
No tackle
Low fuel
Bait wells empty

If you are familiar with the Keys you can actually see them running West and East, compairing the sunrise.

Still a kickass ride though.
