Need a buddy in Arkansas
Starting Monday I'm spending 2 weeks in Arkansas. I have family in Bull Shoals. Wanting to freedive and shoot every chance I can get. I'm available to go every day.
I'm Level 2 certified through FII if safety is a concern. Forgive my ignorance but is diving from a kayak a viable option? I've got one with me. Any info on areas to target would also be appreciated, but I figure y'all probably play them close to the chest. Also, I can relocate to another lake if need be. I'm in a camper. |

Re: Need a buddy in Arkansas
Of course you can dive from a kayak, or from shore for that matter. Just have a flag and realize that most will not respect it. Come up with caution.
Once a boat was throwing their anchor at my bubbles to "get that turtle" while my boat Nazi was screaming and waving the flag at them from 30 yards away... There may have been alcohol involved??? Where you should go depends an awful lot on what you hope to shoot, followed closely by lake level and thermocline depth, in short, learning the lake. I've been doing it since mid 80's and don't know squat, but can figure it out in a day or two of being there (usually). Watch out for that green barb wire masquerading as catfish cover and the trotlines, carry cutters. good luck. |
