Just got out the water at wetherill ..water temp low to mid 40s no fish in sight yet water viz 25 plus is beautiful ill try againg next week

Saw a first spring tog hiding under rocks yesterday in Newport. Too small for dinner though. One more week guys.

Just got out the water wetherill viz is chocolate milk 2 ft viz
Heard the tails pop afew times i managed to get one solid tog
Pic wont upload tho water temp 52 on the watch

Tautog in Narragansett! Mostly small, spooky and scarce, but definitely here. Saw at least dozen fish.
Vizibility from 6-8 on shallow to 4' at depth.

First spring togs 2019!

Beautiful dive at Beaver Tail. Calm and almost flat water. Viz like a layered cake - 15-20ft at surface, then murky layer, then 10ft clear water again, then drop to murk again. Basically, it was really clear and pleasant on shallow and shitty after 30ft.
Excellent reef fishing along the shoreline. Togs mostly on shallow, stay close to holes but not really hiding.
Shot nice size scup too, but someone bit a piece of it already

Wow, thats nice conditions for beavertail. Nice stringer. What took a bite of the scup? Was it an old spear scar?

Definitely not a spear. Looked like piece was teared from the side. I bet on seal.

Went to beaver tail with my friend junbug he got his limit in tog i got 2 togs and a 28 inch fluke dont know why is not letting me put the pictures up here vis was awesome 20 ft
