BlueFish at Kings Beach, RI

Hello Guys, I was just curious, has anyone else ever seen bluefish at Kings Beach? I was there yesterday and was in the water for 10 minutes. The visibility was awful so I just gave up and started swimming back in. I couldn't have been in more than 3 feet of water right near the shore and a monster of a bluefish swims up right next to my head. Couldn't have been further than 3 inches from my head. I was just curious if anyone else had shot a Bluefish at Kings beach. Oh and here's a link to the fish, measure just shy of 33 inches:

Nice blue! Pretty crazy when you get into fish that close to shore, good thing you were still loaded. I have seen quite a few bluefish at kings, but I can only speak for myself

That's a great trophy! I have not seen bluefish yet. Nor can I forget the one I saw devouring a fish last August right off the coast of Newport. It was easily 50 inches and depth was less than 6 feet, but my gun wasn't loaded.

Am I completely crazy or am I right in thinking that Bluefish were a school fish? Or at the very least hunted together. At least that's what I thought. Am I wrong or was this fish just lost?

And also, what was the tide/swell like when you saw your Blues? I'm just trying to figure out the best time to go for them. Not my favorite tasting fish but they are fun to shoot and you get a lot of meet for them

Re: BlueFish at Kings Beach, RI

I've seen quite a few bluefish at Kings Beach and the surrounding Newport coastline. They're usually trailing a school of smaller bass waiting for them to find the baitfish for them. When ever I see them, they're always singular and never in a school unless feeding at the surface, and when that happens good luck trying to track them with the gun.

Im guessing you can't still print the fish if hese already been eaten huh ? I still have the carcass in my freezer cause I freeze them until garbage day so they don't smell up my house but there's no meat on him.
