Yes I met you J, you had some nice catchs, triggers mostly?
Not sure my videos worked, I can see you but like very far on the movie.
I am not sure 'Wide' field is the best for shooting videos.

You would not have been alone jersymud, I've never seen so many spearos on that jetty, some young guys had no wetsuit at all. I had my 7mm and I was totally overheating and I could not keep my breath.

Yeah but you were there on weekend. Thats why i dont go on weekend. To many boats/clueless city folk/ fisherman and divers. I go on fridays and there is almost always no spearfisherman at all.

You need to save for a 3mil or you might die.

true, the ticker the more weight, 18 pounds with my 7mm, and that's barely enough. Just the walk under the sun in the beach, with the suit on and all the gear, killed me. I should have taken a full 15 minutes in the water just trying to cool down.
No kidding you can get sick of overheating. After ~1 hour in the water, plus a few gulps of salt water, I was so thirsty that I drank a full bottle of water.
Then on my way back to Philly I started to feel so bad that I had to stop the car to throw up. And I had eaten nothing the entire day. First time in my life I throw up for drinking too much water.

I was considering jumping in this weekend but it looks quite "sporty." Don't mind the rain but that inlet gets gnarly in a ENE wind.

The video is online here

Sorry Jim, everything looks smaller in wide field, and it's hard to see your catch. Next time i'll try to shoot Medium field with my gopro.
Anybody shooting Medium Field underwater?

Also, I didn't go very deep, perhaps ~12 feet from the feeling on my mask, but I notice the image becomes very greenish. I wonder if the bad viz (in my spot) decreased or diffused the amount of light available and that 60fps was too fast.
Next time I'll try either going slower at 30fps and same resolution (1920X1080), or same speed 60fps but at lower resolution (1280X720)

You need a magenta lense cover. I have one at the bottom of bi somewhere along with a hero 3 black. I always shot narrow.

Nahh all i got is deer killing vids. But gopros are horrible at anything past 5 ft so i always had mine on narrow. And those lense covers are great for nj green water. Got mine from mako.

Re: Anyone in Barnegat Inlet today?

I'll be staying down by LBI for a week in July. I'm bringing my gear down with me. I've only dove there a handful of times. I'll be there from the 11th to the 17th. Anyone interested in getting together during that week at any point? I'll be about 10 to 15 minutes down the road so I'll be ready to go at any time! I normally dive monmouth county off my boat!
