Question Looking for a new gun

Hey everybody! So I've been diving for a little over a year and a half and have really been doing better recently, therefore I want to get a bigger gun! I have a riffe 110 euro right now thats been great for smaller offshore stuff and a lot of reef fish.
My new gun ideally is big enough for some bluefin/yellowfin but small enough that I can throw a reel on it and go on the hunt for some WSB. I wanna ask you guys if a riffe Bluewater elite on my local craigslist right now is the gun for me (for $1100 brand new essentially), or if I should wait for a smaller ulusub/wong or something of that kind to appear on the market. My budget is about a grand as well in case any of you got something for sale

Cheers and thanks for the read

Re: Looking for a new gun

The ulusub posted today would do exact that and be able to hunt yellowtail/WSB with it.

Plus a KILLER of a gun

Re: Looking for a new gun

Have a look at our website. Your description of what you are looking for matches a few of the guns. Right now we have 155RH, 160MH, and 170MH in stock. The 155RH or 160MH might be the right match. 160Mh would probably be deadly with the WSB, and that guns got a good bit of range. I use it for Wahoo. 155RH is a great gun. All sorts of beast have been taken with that gun. But it's a Rear HAndle and might not match the Kelp as well.

Re: Looking for a new gun

I shot a Riffe Bluewater for years (w/o the wing kit)and for years didn’t like it. It’s just a lot of gun to swim around with. If you were going to have it just for tuna trips it might be fine. I think an Ulusub would be a much nicer gun.

I mostly shoot yellowtail and white sea bass and have found my 62” gun to be a nice size for this.

Ulusub and Koah are definitely some great options. Avoid the Riffe crap, I had a Wong bluewater gun and it was ok but I don't believe it's as accurate as a full enclosed track

Re: Looking for a new gun

Buy an Ulusub. In your budget and available now. Quite a few of us shoot them out here. The 160mh or 155rh depending on where you like your handle and if you want 5/16 shaft. If you are going to be doing a lot of tuna, then get the 170mh with 11/32. I have both and love them

Re: Looking for a new gun

Here's some photos of our 160MH Model.

Here's a swim test with my 170MH which I have rigged with a Reel for Wahoo. 160MH is a bit smaller 3 bands and a 5/16". But these guns swim nicely.
