Let's kick this thread off with some images of the "monster" fish Chad Palan brought to the Palm Beach Blue Storm Weigh-in. A phenomenal cubera snapper shot in local waters.

Re: 2008 Palm Beach Open Photos - the monster (literally) fish weigh-in!
Chad wanted to weigh this monster before gutting and after gutting. The before gutting weight was 85 pound 4 ounces! Then we weighed the fish after gutting which resulted in an official tournament weight of 74 pounds 7 ounces.

Re: 2008 Palm Beach Open Photos - the monster (literally) fish weigh-in!
Chad's big cubera took its rightful place on the big fish display cases supplanting an excellent cubera shot by Captain Mike Newman of Team Dykoke. Thank you Dave Graham (aka gcracker 89) for making these sweet big fish display cases! The block ice and crushed ice delivered that day kept the fish well. Here is a shot of the ice man setting it up.

Chad had a good day that day.
Here is his world record contender Mutton snapper which he measured and weighed before gutting.

Damm.......he missed the world record by just 2 ounces!
Oh well...Chad was actually trying to beat his own world record which still stands. The mutton was then gutted and weighed officially at 22 pounds and 5 ounces. Sweet fish Chad!

Here is Chad signing his weigh-in sheet.
He shot no hogfish, but still won the overall tournament championship. Way to go Chad!

Here is another big fish being weighed in by the son of Kent Rogerson. This monster hogfish weighed 18 pounds 9 ounces! Kent shot the fish in South Carolina waters and took second place in the overall aggregate scoring.

Let's look at some of the many other fish brought to the PBO weigh-in. There were some great stringers that arrived.

Special thanks have to go to our weighmaster John Biggs (aka Biggsy) and his fiance Estelle who did data entry along with Scott Hurley (aka cavehunter).
Job very well done!

And thanks to the Florida Freedivers Club whose President Les encouraged members to volunteer to assist at the weigh-in line.
You fellows did an outstanding job!

Re: 2008 Palm Beach Open Photos - the monster (literally) fish weigh-in!
A big thanks to Estelle and Scott for doing the data entry and keeping control of those checking in before weighing their catch.
You said it Tony...The guys from Florida Freedivers did an outstanding job and their enthusiasm and fish slingin' was top notch! A big thanks to Frank McCalister (ABDiver) for getting our database in order and helping this whole process run smoother. I don't know what I would have done without your help! Thanks again! Thanks to everyone who shot the tournament and we are looking forward to the Keys on Sept. 5th and 6th.

I certainly second that! Frank's outstanding efforts to help with the weigh-in database and his programming expertise helped us to be much more organized than the last time. His continuing efforts at refining and improving the database after the event are exceptional and truly appreciated by me. Thank you Frank!
