Do you want to beach/kayak dive next weekend?

cos i do...let's get a miami kayak dive going for the weekend after xmas...I'm sure some of you are getting new toys and you will wanna try em out.

post if you want to go or have any suggestions about where to go

I was thinking about near commercial, but i have heard that you cant launch from there and that they are sticklers about spearing equip. on the beach, so I dunno.

i am desperate to go and bag some fishies so hollar and let's get together.

I'm in either this weekend or the next. I have a buudy who will go to but sundays work alot better for both of us.We went off the beach at vista park just south of oakland park and went to the 3rd reef there is a nice ledge there.

Re: Do you want to beach/kayak dive next weekend?

i am definately in for either or both days this weekend

I'll be bringing my younger brother who is a total newb at all things aquatic, i figure the nicer the dive, the better he'll feel about that first dive feeling when you fail to catch dinner hahaha

i'll be on my tandem so we can either paddle to the spot or just swim out and all use one yak as the support craft, either way sounds tight...
maybe oakland park on sun and commercial on sat

Re: Do you want to beach/kayak dive next weekend?

I'll have family in town for the holiday but I'm sure after a few hours I'll be ready to get out. The 1st reef at oakland was close so we jumped out there and swam out to the other reefs. We attach a float line to the kayak and the gun and swim pulling the kayak behind us also using it as a bouy. The reefs were also between 15 - 25 ft.

Fishing dude... I have a second yak you are welcome to use... just let me know what the plans are and we can go brain some fish! Only thing I'm missing is a dive flag, but I'll buy one if noone has an extra.

Vista park off 27th and us1 which just south of oakland park blvd. is a good spot to put in at.But the only bad thing there is a 3hr max for parking. My buddy and I have flags we put on our yaks I use a 4 ft pice of pvc and tie the flag on.

I have a friend that lives right there... house on the beach just south of the hermitage... you can put in there and park there as long as we want.

That works for me. That 3 hour limit goes quick especially when thing are going good out there. The water is looking alittle ruff right know and they have been having man o war warnings. Matt if we go out this week or the next can u PM directions to your friends house.

Re: Do you want to beach/kayak dive next weekend?

Hey Ben I went out with a friend of mine last weekend there. The ledges are nice we liked them better than Dania. The 3rd ledge must of been 5 to 10 ft high aleast thats what it looked like.
