These are a few pics that still really don't capture the depth of beauty. It is a 55 inch paduk and lacewood gun that has the stones from my first WSB inlayed in it. It is a privilege to own this gun.

Re: Herranenspearguns fan club thread

I'll start off with what I have now. 110cm euro style, paduk core with canary sides. The handle is made with glow in the dark powder and is textured for better grip.

Next is a gun that Phil rebuilt for me and put his own personal touches on. It's a Riffe #0, refinished, and the handle is made from a Neptonics frame welded to a piece of pipe fitted to the stock.

Next is the first gun that Phil ever made for me. 48" paduk midhandle. Phil mounted a reel to it for me, and I shit just about every species of fish in CenCal with this gun, except for WSB, which is why I had it built in the first place. Some one tell Eric Sabbe I want this gun back. It's the second one from the top...

Last, the one I haven't seen yet. I sent the Wong in the picture above to Phil for a make over. Solid blue epoxy finish with a new Neptonics handle and Wong reel. Can't wait to see how it turns out!

I absolutely love Phil's guns. Built exactly how you want them, and they just plain work. If you can dream it, Phil can probably build it and make it work.

Here's my contribution to the Herranen fan club.

I feel lucky to call Phil a friend. He is always willing to explain and help out. And extremely generous (all those who were involved in the MLPA will remember the seemingly endless stream of donations from Phil). A great guy for our sport.

Phil always has a batch of guns going. You really can't go wrong with one of his creations!

Call him up today and get on the list.

Once you finalize the design parameters, I hear that he's only 6-14 months out on orders lately....

Joe I just noticed that trigger. What's up with that thing? I've never seen one like that before.

That's because it's a Herranen Custom.

Give it a few months on the All About Guns forum and everyone will be trying to copy it....

The tube goes all the way back to the trigger. I love this design since it ends the debate of "how deep does the tube go into the wood" (Rojo--get your mind out of the gutter) of other hybrid designs. Phil did take advantage of that super-strong Aimrite CF tube to the max.

The question then is...how do you make a mid-handle trigger without drilling into the stock for the pivot pin (no drilling because the stock has the tube going all the way back to the trigger).

Answer: A slide trigger. Aesthetically, this trigger works with the rest of the stainless steel components of the gun. It works also with the blended East/West motif for the gun. And a great solution to the no-drilling issue. And Herranen-unique

By the way, how come there's still only 1 set of earbones inlayed?
Give me a couple of weeks. There will be plenty of stones to put in the gun. By the way, your ab/scallop iron has plenty of scratches now. It is an awesome tool.

That's a relief. I was thinking I'd have to join the club, but at my age I don't buy ripe bananas.
