Nice! Congrats. Sweet lineup of electronics you have. If you haven't purchase the speakers yet, checkout Wetsounds speakers. They have been getting really good reviews and people are switching from JL to wetsounds

Not the best photo, but she's out of the mold.
Garmin just made is possible to use their sidevu & downvu with the 8000 series displays. I'm hoping that the new thru hull transducers come out in time to have a pair installed during the build. |

Re: My Dream Boat Build Thread 29 Freeman
Beautiful boat! First time i saw this thread. Boat looks very racy, smooth, like a monohull race boat thinned down, doubled up, and made into a cat. Yes the 300s are a great engine. I want to see more pictures.

Re: My Dream Boat Build Thread 29 Freeman
The boat has exceeded my expectations. I literally can not make it land hard - not even when I launch the whole thing out of the water.
It gets over 2.1 mpg cruising at 32 mph - 1.5 at 42 mph - 1.1 at 57 mph. Those numbers are with 3 guys, 300 pounds of ice, full fuel (250 gallons), 10 steel tanks, and a bunch of fishing gear, offshore in the Atlantic on a nice 2-3' day. I can access every pump and all thru-hull fittings from 2 large hatches in the stern that I have no problem climbing down into. Very nice change from dealing with having to work on pumps through access holes. I have 5 insulated boxes to use as I see fit and none of them need to be pumped out. The ride is unreal. It is very clear that the guys who make these boats spend large amounts of time offshore in them. Great family boat too. One of the attached pics is 9 people on one side - no problem. |
