Hey folks price change

I really hate to do it, but I had to raise the prices a little bit this year. I was thinking about a total charter price like the fishing trips, but I thought it would work out better this way. Go to my website and go to the price page. Let me know what you think. Thanks and sorry.

Re: Hey folks price change

Is fried chicken included in that price?

Seriously, it is what it is. Don't sweat it.

Hey Kris, my wife said if you book another charter, she'll make some more fried chicken.

I have been out with you four times now. Each time has been great. I don't think you need to apologize for the economy, raising your prices or taking care of your family. You have a great operation there. Keep up the hard work, the charters will come.

After having gone out with you last summer Paddy Hopping, your increase will not stop us from going again as soon as the fish start showing!

Re: Hey folks price change

When I look at those prices, my first reaction is sticker shock. Why would I want to pay so much for a day trip?

Then reality sets in, and I remember what it costs me to own and operate my boat. Dry storage alone costs me almost $200 per month. The boat is paid for, but how much per month should I amortize? What about the insurance, personal property tax, and the big bills every time I take it in for maintenance?

My share of the gas for one trip may be a lot lower than the price of going with Leo, but my average total cost per trip is so high that its ridiculous. Leo is a bargain.

Re: Hey folks price change

Leo's price is much much less than what it would cost if one were to own a boat and doing the same trip, even splitting among multiple people. Trust me--I've owned boats most of my adult life. Throwing in Leo's service and a nice ride--it's a winner.

Add to that, the fact that when you hit the dock all the passenger has to do is shake Leo's hand good bye and grab his gear while Leo and his crew get to stay behind and do all the clean up. Charter is always cheaper than owning. I don't see to many rich charter captains.

I hope to get on your boat this summer.

Deal. Although, just for the record...I was the only one smart enough NOT to eat the Captain's chicken!

Good point. A share of my gas is a lot less than what you pay for a ride with Leo, but when we hit the dock, the fun has just begun. You have to help me get it on the trailer and then clean it.

And I don't provide fried chicken (although I may let you share my trail mix).

Not even man, The few times I've been on Leo's boat, he and his crew will grab your gear and help you take it to you truck... great customer service, by far. I use to Divemaster on boats and I've been on many dive boats and for sure his boat well exceeds the customer service I've seen.
