Jupiter Dirty Water Diving (pics)

I hadn't been diving in about a month and was itching to go. NOAA was calling for 6-8 with small craft warning but my gut said differently. The inlet was nasty but we made it out. First drop in 85ft hit the bottom before I saw it. head back to boat and we went east to the deep ledge. Drop in again and fuzzy water down to 90ft maybe 15ft viz. I deceided to just let the ripping current carry me and see if something would check me out. Water was SOOO cold it hurt. Just as I was thinking it was too cold a head appeared in front of me... COBIA!!! I lined up as he turned away I shot. As soon as I pulled the trigger I saw what the cobe was travelling with... BULL SHARKS! 1,2,3,4,5 they came buzzing in really close i was smart before I went in the water i connected my gun to the ball line just in case. As the cobia tried to pull me into deeper water I let go of my gun and strated up. A 10-12ft hammerhead comes in to see what's going on. I let the fish stay below me until Capt. Ringo could get me in the boat. Saw 15 turtles including some leatherbacks. Also caught some small kings on the way in. Not bad for a one dive day!

WTG You are hardy souls. I'm sitting out till April. Glad the sharks didn't mess with you. I love the line "hit bottom before I saw it."

Re: Jupiter Dirty Water Diving (pics)

Congrats ,you have way more balls than me , I had the same conditions on 2 dives ,I was all sharked up and never pulled the trigger,.(bulls ,hamerheads )
I had 30 to 40 lb kings circling me ,they knew their grey suits friends were near by.I heard reports from other ballzy divers that had the same conditions ,
they also threw in the towel. You need to start wearing a large S on your chest,
congrats again.
