Ponce report 5-1-10

It wasn't very pretty today !! Seas started out at 2-3 this am, went to 3-5 by 12:00, and then went down hill from there. Went south to the Mound, we had about 5-7 ft. vis, 63 otb. Came in a little to some 73 ft. stuff, vis was less than 5 ft. NO GROUPER....if there were, they were holding up tight in holes. We shot some sheeps, mangos, triggers. Nothing to take pictures of or brag about. We canceled our third dive and it got nasty on the way in !!!!
I think we are going to cancel tomorrow until things clear up. That's all folks.

Sure am glad we didn't go south. 3-5 sounds pretty ruff. We never had over 3.3 ft seas all day.

We hit site 1 @ 7:45 am and had 10 ft vis, 67* saw one gag, but no shot; picked up 4 flounder. Went to PG and had 5-8 ft vis, 61*, nothing home. Back to site 2, 2 ft vis, 66*, again, nothing home.

Congrats to Gary for getting the largest gag.

Congrats to Chiung for that monster cobia.

Well you tried Jimmy. My friends had 12' of vis on the lead wreck and 20'vis down south out of sebastian. My ride for today scrubed.
Boats ready, and truck is in the shop having the 4wheel drive fixed, not looking forward to that bill!
Talk to you later.
