Crystal River

Some friends and I will be heading to Crystal River around August 2nd. We will be bringing a boat and were hoping to get some diving and maybe a little spearfishing in while visiting with friends. I was wondering if anyone in that area might tell us some interesting (published) places to dive on or if they might want to come out and dive with us and show us some better places. Any infor appreciated.

Thanks
- Scott

I don't know alot but if you pick up a FS Map and look at breaks and wrecks in the 8-15ft range you will find alot. The viz. is better to the south for sure. There is also great diving in the springs. There are a large number of dive shops in CR that should be able to help you out. Also, check out this site for a list of public numbers in Citrus county: http://www.gofc.us/

Aaron, thanks for the website of #'s. We'll try and check one or two out. Any recommendations on which # or which spring to go to?
Reef Raider, I don't know if they have a loran or not but am trying to find out.

Thanks

Check with the local dive shops on which springs to dive. Bring your shortest guns and try to find some rock piles south towards Homosassa to shoot. Have fun!

Hay Denny I hope the lines you use to pick up on chics are
A - HOLE lot better than that last one. . Some of this stuff is 40 to 50 M. off shore. I think I even have what should be a 5 ft leadge up that way. I would like to go dive this stuff as most of it I have only line fished.

Dude- Chicks dig me, I need no lines. The conversion offer was serious. But if you want to burn dead dinosaurs to find numbers, have at it.
Hope you didn't think the numbers would go into Offshore Hunter. Hell, I might already have them.

Unfortunately we will have to skip this portion of our dive trip. The dates we have rented places won't allow us to stop in Crystal River now but thanks for the posts. I still plan on diving there in the future.
