Re: Guillaume Nery base jumping at Dean's Blue Hole

!!!!!!!! Wow, obviously very well done vid. So my question is...the blue hole is supposedly 663 ft deep. Are we to take it then that that he did a 663 ft. free dive with no fins and no weight other than the single one on his belt???

Yeah, I did some research and as the current record with constant weight and no fins is less than this, I'm going to say no, he didn't go ALL the way down, as this would be a new record, and I'm sure he wouldn't want to waste so much time walking on the bottom and posturing before his "base jump"

Maybe, he touched down on a shallower shelf of the hole?

Even the cave divers have a spoof video.

Here is a Youtube of a caver coming back out of a very deep cave on nothing but a spare air rescue tank. It's pretty funny.

Doesn't say he dove 600+ feet deep, just that Dean's Blue Hole is that deep. Slightly misleading, but not an outright lie.

Re: Guillaume Nery base jumping at Dean's Blue Hole

I don't think they were implying that he dove to the bottom or even did everything in 1 breath. It's more of art video then extreme sport. It's an interesting idea to see him go through all the motions of a BASE jump underwater.

Very cool! Definitely several takes used as he is in and out of his weightbelt throughout the dive.
