PV Red tide moved in June 26th 2010

Dove yesterday at the spot where its usually the best vis, yesterday around 5 pm vis was 3 feet. and the more out I swam the worse it got..
Red tide moved in..

Save your gas today/tomorrow not worth it..

Shot a big halibut right by the water edge near shore, but the spear bounced off underlying rock.. I think I should have loaded 2 bands on riffe 1..

Spearfishing WSB is like running or weight lifting: You gotta work through the pain. Kelsey pinned one this afternoon. Red tide, yes. Fish??? Yes.

Went out yesterday viz sucked and then was planning just a fun scuba dive with a buddy today but when we hit OML divers said 3ft viz and there were so many surfers and so much brown water at malaga it wasn't worth the hauling of gear. Flat rock looked pretty clear but the swell looked nasty coming in.

not to mention all the boats...

Vis varied from zero to 15. it was enough to get a fish out of it. We had a couple sightings, and I squeezed out a 20lb'er. North face had a lot of traffic when we showed up; most guys are not coping with the red tide well.
