Looking to catch a ride

Hey all,

Well I finally got this weekend off from work. I only asked for it off 6 months ago, to make sure I got it off because it's my birthday on Saturday. I would love to catch a ride to Catalina and/or Clemente Islands preferably and won't turn down going to the Channel Islands as well. So for those weekend warriors looking for a reason to get out, here is a good one. I haven't been to the Islands yet this season and am itching to get out there and get some yellowtail. Wsb would be nice too. I work late night Friday night, so the best launch time for me would be early morning Saturday. I'm free all day Saturday, Sunday and Monday. I live in Hermosa Beach so my preference in launch sites would be Redondo, Long Beach, Dana Point, Channel Islands and then San Diego.

Thanks all and I can't wait to dive with ya!
Mike

So ......

Nobody dive the weekends? No PMs or replies or anything.

Am I going to have to take the ferry on over?

Maybe you should offer some $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ for the trip I don't have a boat to go that far, but just an idea. Heck, you maybe should stay local, hint hint.

Shit, is it always that easy for you to get a boat ride with ALL your specifications?

Must be nice.

Re: Looking to catch a ride

All my specs? I'm saying I'm free all day sat thru mon, and willing to drive up to Oxnard and down to San Diego. I'm making it as easy as possible and still getting nothing.

I may bot be on a blacklist, but I'm also not with the "in" crowd, so I guess I'm sol.

Dude you are from LA, so there are probably not a whole lot of people here who know you. Didn't you post before about coming down here a few weeks ago? Then you got all butt-hurt that time too because nobody responded? I was promised all kinds of boat rides by people on here just for filling out mlpa e-mails, and showing up to the meetings. Not one of those boat rides went through. I'm not trying to be a dick man. If I was going on a boat to the islands, I'd let you come.

That sucks Ethan, I went to a couple of meeting (took days off with out pay from work) myself and I don't expect to get any boat rides either. I went to the meetings to fight for my local diving spots as I am sure you did also.

You should ask your boy Mark for a boat ride. He promised me a ride, but he hasn't delivered.

If you end up taking the ferry (shit I might also take the ferry on Sunday) this weekend go to the Two harbor's campground and look for a group of skinny Marines. My brother and some friends will be camping and diving all weekend at Catalina.

Re: Looking to catch a ride

Well I was lucky enough to catch a spot with someone from SD. Sweet. Now to run and get my Mexican Fishing license. It's not Catalina but a different island, Coronado. I'm excited. Now to make sure everything is ready to shoot some big fish.

Re: Looking to catch a ride

Hiking the cliffs in PV is the norm for me. Even when I can jump in my buddies 12ft aluminum skiff I do it. It also makes it so much easier to decide to move to another spot.
