Re: Mako suits?

I have a 3.5 mil, green camo. So far, so good. But they run large in the way they size. I have a ScubaPro XL that fits me just the same as the Mako medium
The first one I ordered was a large which was too big for me in the butt and thighs. Lucky I found a buyer for it here.

Re: Mako suits?

Check this mob out of NZ before ordering anything..

http://www.seaquel.co.nz/

Also find out what kind of material Mako is using. Last I heard it was open cell which is not as warm as closed cell and also not as sanitary. If your going to be spending a lot of time in your wetty (which Im sure you will being a pro) Id lookin into all the options.

The best thing I like about the seaquel suits is that they are custom made... So they fit like a glove.....

Never having owned an open cell suit, I don't know first hand, but I've always heard open cell suits are warmer,,, no? How can they not be as sanitary? Just curious, thanks!

Re: Mako suits?

I will never wear anything but open cell ever again
alot less restriction and the wind doesn't cut through on the winter

Re: Mako suits?

I have a 5 m mako farmer john and it is great.
open cell very warm in water and even standing in the wind.
You have to soap up to get into it and have to add 10lbs of weight ,but you will be warm even at bottom temp in high 50's

Baby shampoo works great and even works in your mask

when I need a new suit I will be getting Mako

Re: Mako suits?

Open Cell is not nearly as warm as closed cell neoprene. OPen cell isnt as sanitary as it allows urinne and bacteria to build up in the neoprene if not washed properly...which may cause rashes if you have sensitive skin.

In regards to price, did you make sure to do the price conversion as it is in NZ dollars??? Last one I bought from them I paid $320 AUS... Which is about $275 US....
