Vis and fishing report

Went out yesterday 20 miles out of topsail. Strong current out of the SW with maybe 40 foot of vis on the surface and 10-15 on the bottom. Fish were nowhere to be found or hiding really well. Any other reports?

Re: Vis and fishing report

Hatteras this weekend - I'll post after. Word is it's the same as your water minus the current. Still some fish around on top though.

O.I. I've been looking at the same picture up here this year. Not good at all. I'll go looking for them again in the next two weeks or so but maybe this is one of those bad years, we'll see.

Jeff, sorry man. I didn't even know I was going and my buddy showed up at 1230. Wind cranked all morning and we went anyway. Spur of the moment. Took us an hour and a half to travel 10 miles

Re: Vis and fishing report

Hatteras Saturday, decent seas but rougher than forecast, swimmable current, acceptable viz on top, cold and murky on the bottom, not a lot of fish.

Hatteras Sunday, exponentially worse seas and undiveable current, phenomenal viz on top, but so sharky it wasn't worth being in the water at all.

Out around the schoolhouse complex yesterday with 50 ft of vis. Bottom 1/3 down to about 25 ft. Not bad.

Today (Monday) , barges 3 miles off Carolina Beach (Marriott Reef), viz was 3 ft. Moved off to the Dredge wreck, viz on the bottom 10-15 ft with alot of particulate in the water. 30 to 40 ft from the surface down to about 30 ft.
