Fort Bragg Viz and Ab report.

Dove Saturday and Monday here in Bragg. Viz has ranged from 15-30 feet and the ocean is exceptionally flat. I got to dive with Sparkie and Kirby and it was a blast. Looks like the weather is going to hold but its a hard decision.....Deer or Abs/fish
I found quite a few Abalone during the dives and took these 9+'s.

Not a hard choice for me, it is going to be 100+ where I hunt deer.

Thanks for the good news and pics. My neighbor said Ocean Cove was calm on Sunday. I think we may head up to Mendocino before Saturday.

Hey, I was in ocean cove all weekend and it was great! 30 of us with a few rubber boats. Weather, well water was good, overcast most of the time. Your neighbor would know us by the orange kabota we launched our boats with. Abs never taste as good as they do int that campground.

Re: Fort Bragg Viz and Ab report.

Dave...Thank you so much for your hospitality. It was a blast hanging out and diving with you. Great party on Saturday by the way!

Here are some photos from Mendocino. We had stellar conditions and Sam and I saw some fish that we hadn't ever seen before... Like china rockfish.

This is the first china I've ever speared. I almost didn't shoot it because it was pretty small...but knowing that they don't get too big, and wondering what they tasted like got the better of me.

It was also the first fish that I've speared that had its stomach blow backwards upon surfacing.

Sam's amazingly red cabezon. Its colors were even more brilliant just after he shot it...wait for our next video.

Sam doing some abalone/sponge data collection for my thesis..

and a snapshot from a video of a beautiful black and yellow...again, wait for our next video.

See you soon and thanks again Dave!
