MAKO Spearguns Enclosed Track Gun

It’s taken us a while, but we are finally ready to offer our fully enclosed track railguns. Unfortunately, our website has not yet been updated with the details, but we are ready to build the new guns now. Today we are offering only the Black barrel option and by tomorrow we expect to be able to offer the Blue and Green Camo options as well.

If you want to place an order, you will have to do so over the phone. We apologize for the inconvenience of not having photographs and all the other information ready, but we know that many people wanted to make their orders as soon as possible.

Here is a brief summary of the details:
  • The guns will be offered only with the Oceanic Handle.
  • The enclosed track barrels are available in sizes from 110 to 140 cm only.
  • This gun will come with an open muzzle.
  • The guns will come standard with a shark fin tab shaft to accommodate the fully enclosed track.
  • The Cost: Only $75 more than the identically configured Oceanic Gun. In other words, you can use the website to select the desired color (black or two camo choices) and also size (110 to 140) and add $75 additional and that will be your cost.
  • Of course you can specify your band preferences, optional (color coordinated) rubber loading butt, shooting line color, etc. We are ready to build your gun today.
Give us a call: (540)-361-1570.

Thanks!

Dano---In the morning I will be calling in my order for a new Mako ETPG Blue 120 and some other things I been needing.

Thank you Dano, Chad, Jeff and any others for making the ETPG a reality

spearos--I have been in the water just 7 days with this gun already and can report that this ETPG is a very strong and heavy duty pipe gun. I never considered using 3 bands on a pipe gun before, but this is the pipe gun that can handle 3 bands if a spearo so desired. With two 5/8 bands the gun recoil is much less than ANY other pipe gun I have ever used.

I think every "OC Spearo" just got hard from this post.

But seriously congrats Dano, its nice to know that people are innovating spearguns and still offering them at reasonable prices with great service.

Re: MAKO Spearguns Enclosed Track Gun

Look forward to the first people to try this out. Looks very promising indeed and is something I have always wondered why it was not readily available. Hopefully the full description of this item along with nice pictures will be on the website soon. Personally I think it should have at least 3 x 5/8" bands on the larger guns as the enclosed track gun (130cm) I have tried seems to not have enough power with 2 bands (maybe due to suction effect?) but one extra band changes everything and transforms the gun into a flat shooting, long range accurate gun. It seems there is a certain amount of minimum power required to cause cavitation behind the shaft to negate the effects of vacuum. Would be very interested to see the velocity of a 2 band enclosed and 2 band open track and then compare that to 3 band enclosed and 3 band open track. In my experience I found that with enclosed track and 3 bands there was no drop in velocity while with 2 bands there was. I think a lot has to also do with how slick the enclosed track is so maybe with this track cavitation can be achieved with 2 bands?

Re: MAKO Spearguns Enclosed Track Gun

thinkn about buying one of these in a 110cm with 3 14mm bands just tryn to figure out if its worth it to buy an enclosed track on a 110cm and would 3 14mm bands give it enough power or would 2 20mm bands be better? wish they had some pix up! sounds like an awesome gun though!

I know that Dano has been finishing up the web pages for the enclosed track guns. He should have some pics up very soon.

Re: MAKO Spearguns Enclosed Track Gun

I got to see 3 of these guns in action this last weekend in Baja. They look great and performed even better. One guy shot a 24lb Cabrilla with his! It was a really long shot and he got that thing! I'll post up a pic from my camera later if anyone is interested.

I'll post a picture of my buddy with his and his 24lb Cabrilla later. For $75 I don't think you can go wrong. The Mako enclosed tracks were substantially more beefy than my RA's. The Mako Predator has the same size barrel as my RA's. With a heavier gun and an enclosed track you could get away with more band power.

This thread should give you a $3 peak. I don't think the final production guns will look a whole lot different than these prototypes.
