All wood "hybrid"
I had an idea pop into my head. Would it be possible or feasible what ever you want to call it to build a gun completely out of wood (one piece blank) and make it look like a Wong hybrid? If this doesn't make sense I can try to clarify.

Phil Harranen made something along these lines if I'm not mistaken.

Re: All wood "hybrid"
A gun I made might be similar to what you're considering. I dive in murky water and wanted a short mid-handle gun with a hydrodynamic wooden "pipe" in front of the handle. Here's a photo of the finished product. I put the blank in my wood lathe to turn the "pipe" down to a diameter of about 2 inches.
I used an OMER european trigger mechanism because I like them, but I'm sure other types would work. I've been very pleased with the results. It's short, powerful, has a light trigger pull, and can be swung easily side-to-side. I have a set of 80 photos at kodakgallery.com showing the construction process beginning with laying up the blank. If you send me your email address I can give you access to that album.
