Got my Ling
Pretty much my only goal since moving up into the central coast has been to spear a ling. Every time at Morro I am teased by shorts, but finally.....
 Conditions: A very hazy 10 feet or so. More than good enough to spot some fish. I dropped down to her hole about 6 times before i reassured myself she was a legal. Its crazy, i have my gun marked at 24" and the damn thing let me pretty much lay the gun right along side it to measure it out.   Anybody ever do anything with the roe?? She had some fat ovaries  But I have heard some kinds are poisonous.

Nice!!
I know Cabezon roe is poisonous, but hadn't heard that about ling. If you give it a try let us know how your do  I've had similar experiences with cabezon just sitting there as you measure their length. Very accommodating. Congratulations on your first ling!!
