Giving back and going without this Christmas.
So today was my turn to give back- For those who listen to the Cape Radio station PIXY103FM, you know it is the annual 103 hours of homelessness. ( You can go to the web page they have to see/read about it)
Yesterday I E-mailed Matty B of PIXY after driving by the food pantry and seeing the line...... and the children in it. Inside my head (scary place in here BTW) I was thankful for what I have in my life. My maniacal but adorable healthy son is on top of the list. I was going to buy myself a new gun ( yep, another one that would be riddled with "it does'nt shoot straight" issues........... not the shooter of course! Instead, I took every single penny I had saved for it and went shopping and bought: 25 boxes of cheerios 25/lbs of pasta 25 jars of sauce 24 jumbo bags of animal crackers 100 cans of soup/fruit cocktail 12 bags of veggie sticks 80 packs of cheese crackers 640 oz of fruit juice 25 kids coloring books 25 boxes of crayons (24 crayons ea.) 10 dora The Explorer puzzles 10 disney puzzles 10 tic/tac/toe games 10 Transformers books 20 child activity books 5 skateboards 50 matchbox cars 5 card games 5 color the world games 40 toothbrushes. I packed it all on 2 pallets in the boat, drove to the next town over and delivered the booty to PIXY 103's Matty B and the Bourne Firefighters. They unloaded every single thing and packed it away in the trailer! As a Thank You I got a really cool T-shirt, a hand shake from everyone there and each one said "Thank You"! So, Mr.Wong I will not be buying myself that new gun (Daryl, I know you understand, Patrick says Merry Christmas, Mahalo)...... instead I will be content with what I have.......... it could be worse....... always. The pictures are on facebook, and it was a damn good feeling towing the boat back empty today!

Re: Giving back and going without this Christmas.
all these years I been miss judging you. Turns out you're a "great guy". I take back all the stuff I've ever said about you. Some of the stuff was really mean too. Not "run of the mill" mean stuff; specific mean stuff. Jokes about your physical appearance and the clothes you wear. Anyway, sorry about that.
I feel better already. This really is the season of giving. Hey, maybe you like to come over after Christmas and see all of the news Guns I'm getting. But hey, it's really cool what you did.

It's refreshing that there is still the Christmas 'giving' spirit. I would shake your hand if I knew you!

The greatest thing any man can possess is a clear conscience.
