Seattle Spearos
Howdy
I am in the process of graduating from Eastern Washington University and most likely I will move to the UW-Seattle area for graduate school. The main reason why I wanted to post here is to touch base with some of the freedive spearos. I would like to know if the hunter population in this area is welcoming ![]() Do you guys have a spearfishing club, such as the Monterey Bay Tritons? If yes, do you meet on a regular basis. I want to save some contact info and get in touch with you guys. My plan is to move out of Spokane area completely by the end of Spring, but I wanted to secure the spearfishing scene before I come. I have been diving for more than 10 years, solely freediving. I am originally from Istanbul and I dove in Mediterranean and Aegean regions as well as in Monterey and Carmel. I love the central Cal. dives, though and from what I have seen in the videos posted here, the Seattle area pretty much resembles the Central California waters. |

Re: Seattle Spearos
There are some freedivers in the area, like wkyongae said check out the bottomsounders yahoo group. THere are a number of guys to meet up with on there. I live on bainbridge right by seattle and I freedive all the time around the seattle area, and I spearfish at neah bay. SInce seasons are short and there aren't that many fish, sekiu/neah bay are the best places to spearfish, and it is well worth the drive. There is some amazing diving out there. Shoot me a pm when you get out here and hopefully we can do some diving.
