How to sharpen a slip tip

I want to sharpen some slip tips I banged up in Baja what is the best method? Bench grinder? Belt sander?...

Bench grinder gets them sharp as a needle. Thats what I always use.

Or if you shoot in rocks a lot(obviously not with a slip tip) you can purchase a shitty little file from harbor freight and get a decent edge on it while out in the water.

Belt sander works in a pinch too. I'll second carrying a bastard file in your gear bag, they are cheap and take up little space.

Be carefull wit a grinder or belt sander , if you over heat the metal you will ruin the temper and the tip will blunt very ez . It's best to do it very slowly and cool it often
