"please don't" had to do with the competition not the group. I for one dislike the whole 3 fish per species type competitions, especially when it is in my backyard. I enjoy seeing a bunch of reef type fish when I'm out searching for WSB and I wouldn't be upset if you want to take a 25# sheepshead, that I see from time to time, ( if you want it for yourself for food ).
15 fish per diver is a heck of alot of fish.......why??? so you can win a pair of booties
Hey I have an idea, why not have it in P.V. ? Just kidding, I wouldn't wish it on anyones local reef.

how many projected divers?

how much "culling" and upgrading goes on?

whats the number of divers who have succomed to swb while competing?

these are all reasons that alot of spearfishers oppose these kind of "perch for points" competitions.

why not 1 fish per diver that is eaten at the fish fry afterwards?

Pv_ Spearo, my attitude is not personal toward you or your club, but it does bother me that this comp is being held in my backyard for fish that you and your club will probably not even eat (i know you donate them to some shelter ;( but that is not the same as taking them for food for yourself and family.

Headlands,
as long as you eat what you take and don't take more than you need do we have a deal?

Hey tommy,

I invite you to come dive with us this sunday at point Dume.

I'm sure you will be surprised at what a great group of guys we dive with and how much comraderie is shared between the divers.

We have a great time challenging ourselves and sharpening up on our hunting skills while diving the eliminations.

These competitions make you a 10 times better diver, because of the demands they put on you. We always dive with a partner and there has never been a swb in a GLACD elimination dive.

Ever since I started diving competitions, I have become a completely better diver. I have meet so many fun guys to dive with and have learned so much from them.

Competition Diving is not about shooting more fish than another diver, Its about challenging youreslf and making yourself a better diver. The limits are set up so we dont do a significant damage to the reef, and the
1 fish per species make a real challenge for a 15 fish meet.

Any one who wants to come is welcome to check out what competition is really about. We will be at Point dume this Sunday at 8 AM.

Hope to see you guys there,

Brandon
