Lyin'

We'll Matt finally completed the Nuclear Navy program so he had some much deserved R&R for the last three weeks.

with him home we decided to go give it a try.

Managed three good days of it including today.

weather man lied as usual but for ONCE it was in OUR FAVOR.

said it'd be 2-3 with winds increasing and switching South,.

There was NO wind all day..

With most everything you can shoot being illegal and Matt and me both

have the same opinion of Jacks we decided to try for Lobster and Trigger.

we managed a Mess of Lobster each day and a load of triggers.

Our newest craze is grabbin' trigger and stringin' them without shooting.

I got 6 on one dive and we had gobs more over the course of the three days

gotta come up with somethin' to keep it interestin'

If ya never tried it, it's a hoot tail-grabbin' trigger.

we did have one curious kill.....see attached. saw 4 total in 15 total dives over the three days.

Water is warming a bit since our dives last week we had 62 for the first 20 feet today dropping to the breath-takin' 56 at 20 foot

there was a snot thermocline and you chringed when you saw it coming.

vis is improving but on our deeper dive today the snot was still thick enough that it felt almost like a night dive.

The Red-tide/Oil/dispersant/plankton/algea/nuclear waste/agent orange seems to have moved on finally

bugs, mangroves, trigger and a lion..

and MOST of all great times with Matt!

Good job! I couldn't stand all these posts anymore and broke my rule of no cold water diving. Went out yesterday with my son. Saw the Under Taker and followed him until he left us in his dust. Made one dive and Li'l Bait got his first lobby's. I remembered why I had made the no cold water diving rule though and didn't make any more dives. Yes, I am a weenie.......but I'm a warm weenie .

Steelbait, I was on the Undertaker. What a sweet, dry, warm ride. Did you dive our honey hole? We made three to four dives each.

Re: Lyin'

It's ALL about the suit!
I couldn't stand water below about 66 til I got a 7mm semi-dry now the 57 is only cold on my face.

I think my next upgrade will be to a dry.

I know they can be expensive but I'll take my time and shop

I got a brand new 7mm semi-dry called H2Odyssey and paid 165 for it brand new and made 15 total dives in three days and only would get slightly chilled by the end of each day. I'm with ya, I hate being cold but I also hate sitting out of diving for weeks and even months

You didn't see that little white spec behind you? I'd like a boat like that too but I'm having a hard time keeping my cost per pound of seafood below a $100.00 as it is ! And gas prices are going up like their on Viagra!

I'll have to start saving my pennies for one. Maybe on a sunny relatively warm day like yesterday a better suit would have helped, but all I have is a 19' center console, by the time I get to the next spot, I'm cryin for my mama. I tried the hot water thing that Patmygreen suggested, but it just doesn't last long enough.

Yeah, were like a cop magnet, I don't know why, it's just me (a gray haired old man) and my son (a 15 year old pimply faced kid) in a tiny 19 foot boat. They'll stop me and let a 30' sport fisherman go by . He was a real nice guy though, he took my word I didn't have anything illegal, didn't even check my cooler. Now the last time I got stopped out there it was by the Marine Patrol and he checked everything, my cooler, under the console, the live well, even in the anchor locker. You'd think it would be the other way around, the FWC would have given me the cavity search .

Re: Lyin'

Thanks!

we're all very proud of him!

I'd saw your posts (I think it was you) asking about diving in this area.

We'd almost called you to go with us but the weather was so if-y every day we just went on a spur of the moment.

If it was you, and you're ever back this way, let me know and I'll try to get you out
