Diving from boat in Stuart.

Dove off the boat for the first time today at Bathtub. Definitely makes things a lot easier that's for sure. Looking to try somewhere new tomorrow. I've heard that Pepper Park and the House of Refuge have good diving. Are they worth taking the boat to as well or are they basically just shore diving spots? If so are boat ramps anywhere near?

Re: Pepper park

Hi ,There's a couple of ramps on the north causeway east ,over the second bridge on the right side is a big and better ramp. you can goggle it and get a better picture .

Thanks, yeah I know about the ones over by Benihanas. I was curious about something a little closer to Fort Pierce. We tried going out again today but it was pretty much a failed trip due to the fact that some scumbag stole fins out of our boat and I'm not one to dive while my buddy sits on the boat wishing he was there too. Hopefully this next weekend goes a little better.

Ive only been up to pepper park once but I think you can dive it from the beach or a boat. The reef went out pretty far.

Re: Diving from boat in Stuart.

I might try and head over there maybe next weekend. Luckily for me my boss is a great guy and offered to let me use his little 16' Cobia any time I want so I'm hoping to get out as much as I can on it. We dove Bathtub all day on Saturday and had a lot of fun. Drove all the way to the house of refuge but I'm not familiar with that and couldn't find anything. Didn't really shoot anything other than a 3lb sheephead. We went out today and as soon as we got out there we realized someone stole my buddy's fins so we just came back. The short time we were out there we saw 3 nurse sharks swimming, a spinner shark jump, and about 10 sea turtles before anyone even made it in the water.

nothing really good around here near shore. try bullshark wreck. if you wanna just looka at reef and fish go dive pecks. you cant shoot fish inside the park so leave the guns in the boat.

Just thought you might want to know that molesting a sea turtle in any way is strictly against the law. You might not want to post such events on a major board. Always remember there are a lot of folks reading these posts who just might come knocking on your door.

There are several nice ramps right inside of FPI. Diving the reefs out there, such as Pepper Park, are much nicer from a boat...especially if you plan to dive 3rd reef.

I prefer to motor up towards to moorings or some of the other exclusive developments N of the inlet and dive those areas that don't recieve a bunch of pressure. If you have sonar you will have no problem finding the reef at any of these spots.

Hope you have a good dive!

Re: Diving from boat in Stuart.

Thanks guys. I might try that out this weekend. I've pretty much been everywhere Bathtub has to offer. Unfortunately the boat doesn't have sonar but hopefully I can still find something worth diving. I'm definitely more interested in spearing than just snorkeling, although that is nice to just get out and relax once in a while. Akapp I'm not off but any chance I get off work early I try to shoot over there. But unfortunately repairing equipment for all the major tire stores keeps me plenty busy. I have to get off fairly early in order to shoot over there from Okeechobee but if I do I will be sure to let you know.

They said they didn't even get in the water... Pretty hard to molest some turtles from the beach?!?!?!
