finally happened

After four years of spearing under there noses ,,,,finally a big oll S.O.B. came
in and suck in my (appx.) 24" Gag that i just shot. Luckily I had a line shaft on
because of the poor vis & the concrete AR I was diving on. When I saw him coming, I made mad dash for the Gag, swimming hard and pulling on the line.
Well you can guess who won that race! It lasted a whole 1/2 second....
I was not about to give up, when he turned I know what was going to happen,, I held on to that line all I could and waited....... Barely a tug and the shaft poped out of the Jew fish's mouth. Got my shaft,, he got the Gag...
the moral of the story ,,, I guess ,, play around the big boys and you'll get your ass kicked sooner or latter.

Also had my first shark encounter while carrying some fish last week.
Diving a ledge, had two hogs on the stringer, and here goes a shark right in front of me. I instantly bail for the top. Didn't see em on the way up (I sure was looking) but once up there ,, Here they come straight up at me, two of them.. So I poked at them couple times with the gun. Then I lifted my head and blew that whistle, luckily I had someone with me this trip,, to come get me (about 80 yrds from the boat) ,,, but they left before he got the anchor in,, I just swam to the boat.... they didn't get my hogs!!!!!

pic of the Gag that I did get, always proud of myself when i bag one of these guys....,,, and a strange little crab that a Red grouper
threw up in the boat..
