Any Attorney Spearos out there?

Dan Byrnes,"cyber donkey", asked me to post a call out to any attorneys on the board.

He is one of the guys (him and Eric) that is at the Children's Pool every weekend holding down our ground. His friend, Eric Bizzigooti, also would like to talk to someone. These would be the original "frisbee boys".

He is still unable to post as he has not recieved Mod approval. You can email him at dan@nightowlpc.com or ericb@nightowlpc.com.

Thanks

Re: Any Attorney Spearos out there?

Rats, I thought this was a revival of the ideas to start the process to dedicate The Children's Pool into the National Registry of Historical Landmarks. Worked for CAMP4, I'm confident it'd work for CP.

Best of luck to Eric and Dan, welcome to the "test-case" coliseum. I have some names to refer, if they are interested, nobody I know that will take this pro-bono, but I'll check.

What is needed to make that happen (historical landmark)? Petition doesn't seem like it will do.

I'm in agreement with you 'O. I think the legal process is going to be our best bet especially considering the non-enforcement of SDPD and the bias of the rangers and lifeguards.

It's not that bold of an undertaking, but does necessitate a significant amount of funding...contemporaneous with our current MLPA issues.

Background: CAMP4 aka Sunnyside, is in Yosemite, and is THE birthplace of Big Wall Climbing in the world. It was slated to be bulldozed for a parking extension and bus lot. The world climbing community stepped up, and through the help of many, CAMP4 is now forever protected (although some concessions were made...as the pure original nature of CAMP4 was deemed too extreme for 99% of potential users. Oh, and Chongo has been removed. )

We're having a meeting in SD soon to discuss some avenues to pursue with CP. Of course, when you get 10 guys together, you'll end up with 14 opinions.

Ha. Yes I saw this last meeting. The good thing is there are many willing to do something at least. What we really need is the BIG idea everyone can jump on and support. For now using the beach is holding us ground, but I think that, unfortunately, that tactic won't make much headway.

Maybe we could sell seal dolls for some funding...wonder where that idea came from

I have been looking into the historic preservation at the CP also. You need a study and the city's permission it seems. Most of the other criteria can be met. Connected with historical figure. Prominent example from a noted architect etc..... It was also the first permanent lifeguard station in san Diego.

Yeah Zen (Joe) is an attorney. I dont seee why he would not be cool with helping out. He was very hands on in the mlpa process!
