Halibut behavior
Last year I was diving la jolla hunting for some halibuts. Conditions were about right I had been in the water for a little bit and finally spotted one. Legal size but not what I had been hunting for. when I came upon this flattie it was not Laying under the sand or fully exposed. The halibut was just 1 inch off the ground fluttering in a slow speed with a bunch of sand on it's back as if he had seen me first and was trying to hide. I followed it for a while till it bolted off on me. Anyone else seen this behavior?

Re: Halibut behavior
Yes. My PB hali saw me, but instead of bolting tried to slow down and blend in with the bottom... they are ambush predators!
