Camping + Spearfishing at Santa Cruz Island?

I'm trying to plan out a trip for later this summer. Has anybody ever done this? Feasible? Enjoyable? The main camping area and one of the marine reserves seem to overlap. I would be bringing my kayaks to go places, but carrying fish through the reserve would be an issue, I think.

I camped there last year at Scorpion Cove- very nice campground. No fires allowed and you have to transport all your gear from the ferry to the camp (about half a mile; easily do-able).

We had kayaks and the non-reserve area was pretty close by. At the cove where the boat dropped us off, we were in the preservation portion of the island, but it didn't take long paddle beyond that.

Thanks Shoupart and Anthony. Sounds like it's not as much of a hassle as I realized.
