Diesel fuel treatments

I had some issues with my truck's fuel injectors and have been using Gunk injector cleaner for diesel trucks, after fillups and 2 bottles of that stuff I have noticed an improvement in performance as well a slight increase in MPG.
What other diesel fuel treatments do you guys recomend?

Sea Foam- agreed. And you can use it on all your lawn tools and stuff like that. If you use an algaecide because you actually have algae, don't forget a spare set of fuel filters. When that "dies off" it will clog the filters in nothing flat. Reef, correct me if I'm off base here.

how do you know if you have algae in the diesel fuel. is it more common to have algae on a boat since the fuel might sit longer than a car since the car is used everyday?

Spare filters are necessary for anyone tooling around in a diesel. They don't take much space and you have to figure that, sooner or later, you're gonna need 'em.

No doubt about that. I was just saying to even put an EXTRA set in there. I've seen a guy through 3 sets in one day in Maryland. Thank goodness it was not on my boat.

It's easy.. You don't. Algae doesn't grow in diesel fuel. What many people think is algae is really the fuel breaking down as it ages. Once it starts that process it clumps and sticks. A good stabilizer like those mentioned above is all you need. If you run your fuel through the tank and engine pretty regularly, you really don't need anything except perhaps an occasional fuel injector cleaner.

YMMV
