Re: Post office blues

Just another great example of how efficiently Washington could run health care...

Re: Post office blues

Unions have destroyed the post office just like they destroy everything else.

4 day a week mail delivery and all problems are solved but the unions wont let it happen.

Re: Post office blues

The whole story isn't being told here.

From the article...

"Corbett said the agency will default on the payment if it is not extended again and that the Postal Service will not have the cash to make next year's payment either. The mail carrier wants Congress to end the prefunding requirement, which was imposed in 2006."

In 2006, Congress passed a bill that required prefunding for future pensions. This is a MAJOR contributor to revenue loss. The act of prefunding is an unprecedented requirement for the post office or any business.
IMO, Congress did this in order to use (rob) the money for the budget, much like they robbed SS.
I find this more of an example of how a gov't run business can't be profitable due to gov't interference.

Maybe.

Of course private healthcare is currently running annual uncovered costs of over $50 billion a year and the taxpayers are picking up around 75% of that...
