Sea Hornet Question

I have a sea Hornet metal pipe gun that is about 50 inches long. I've used two 3/4" Bands that are pretty hard to load. Today the gun developed a problem in that the line holder tab would release by itself or possibly under slight bit of tension on the line. This appears to occur only when under load from 2 bands. When I use one band there is no problem.

Question: Does this mean the Sea Hornet trigger is worn out?
Is it likely to misfire?
Is the line realease failure indicative of a reduction in the safety of the gun?
Can these guns only handle one really strong band?
Does the manufacturer provide a warranty for the trigger mechanism?

That gun was likely made and distributed by the Biller company. You may want to contact them and see if they will send you one of their new hardened triggers.

Two 3/4" bands are a little much for that trigger. Send me the trigger and I will take a look at it. However, 2-22" 5/8 dia. bands are plenty for that gun.

Thanks for the info Kevin.

Per your suggestion, I did contact AB Biller Co and they immediately responded back with a phone call and said they would fix the problem at no charge to me.... Mr. Andre Biller was extremely courteous and pleasant. His offer was made without any complaining on my part; I simply explained the problem as was described in my earlier post.

That is probably the best customer service I've ever received!

Just so everyone knows... I got my replacement gun via UPS today.... I only had to pay shipping one-way!! With this kind of service, I really have to recommend this gun. ( I got the 60" Stainless Steel Professional).

We will see how the new gun works tomorrow.

The Biller company has always been very good with their warranty policy. Glad to hear it worked out well for you.

Well yesterday, I powered it up the new gun with the usual two 3/4" bands and went snorkeling. shot a 28 lb aj no problem. Shot a little gag no problem. Shot a mutton no problem. Sot a dumb little red no problem. Took a shot at a mutton and totally missed from like 6 feet away! Hit and lost another mutton (shot was way high). Decided to shoot with one band....
Shot decent mutton, but was so close that the shaft didn't even leave the gun entirely. Took a long tail shot at a running gag from at least 12 feet away and got him!

Maybe I will try one band 3/4" for this line gun for a while, it seems to shoot straigter with one, but there is also a definte and noticable loss in power. If this doesn't work out, my plan B is to use one 3/4" and one 5/8" band.

Try going up 1" or 2" in size on each 3/4" band if you want to shoot 2 bands. If you are only gonna shoot one band....go down 1" to 2" in size.
