Texas hog hunting....... taking it up a notch!

You can run, but you will just die tired.

I got to shoot one of those off of a Huey back in the day. I'd be lying if I said I didn't have a full on robotic chubby when I was done. Fricken bad-ass! 4000 rounds a minute is quite a bit of lead to put down range.

No need to tenderize those bad boys, straight to the pit.

Please don't class what you just watched as "hunting".

Exactly. I'm no tree hugger; but shit like that is the reason why animal rights idiots are able to get bullshit laws passed. This wasn't the helicopter guys thinning a population. This was a redneck with an automatic weapon mowing down animals that were obviously caged before executing them. This is no different than one of those paid exotic animal trophy hunts where caged animals are released or "driven" towards the "hunter" for a guaranteed kill. (by driven, I mean urged to move to the other side of their + - 5 acre pin.)

Would you prefer they walked right up to the cage and shot them in the head with a .22? They were definitely thinning the population with style.

Absolutely. That is how I've done it since I was little. A humane shot to the head is all it takes. Terrifying the animal prior to killing them ruins the taste of the meat. Not to mention being inhumane. No different than some little bastard punk kid killing stray cats with a lawnmower. Yes, having them euthanized would be the right thing to do, but mowing them down with a Deere is just too much fun....

No, no. New York gets the credit for that one. I remember hearing a wives tale as a child about some kid, who a friend of a friend lived next to that would bury them up with their heads exposed then...well you get the idea. Never thought it was true, but I guess some sick puppy took a slightly different approach.

Re: Texas hog hunting....... taking it up a notch!

Not saying I know the background on this particular video, but I saw another where they hunted them from a helicopter with a shotgun and took them down by the dozens because they were overpopulating and causing massive destruction to crops. It honestly sounded like it's come to the level of pest control in some areas. The helicopter was the most cost effective method for taking down the max number of hogs possible once they start running.
And looked like a ton of fun actually!
